The Harlem based Hip Hop Film Festival (HHFF) returns for its fourth season with “Four Days of Fresh.” From Thursday, August 1st to Sunday, August 4th, held at The National Black Theatre in New York CIty, the festival will preview, screen and live stream over 125 films. Presenting more than 150 filmmakers from around the world in competition, the annual event will provide education, entertainment, access and opportunities to the film community. This year, several events will also honor the legacy and social impact of John Singleton with a tribute to the late film director.
The prestigious recognition of “Greatest Of All Time” will spotlight Singleton’s work with a special event, The Art of The Score, a block party in Brooklyn on July 19th, powered by the NYC Parks Department in Prospect Park featuring live DJ’s and a screening of “Boyz In The Hood” under the stars. On August 3rd, The Black Gold Gala & Harlem Film House fundraiser powered by Black Gold Vape will include a “high-end” five course dinner curated by Chef Coupet, and entertainment inspired by Singleton’s work in the festival’s two story art gallery in Harlem.
